About the Albany Academy

The Albany Academies

Who We Are

The Albany Academies—The Albany Academy and Albany Academy for Girls—develop capable and confident students through single-gender education in the Lower and Middle School, and through coordinate education in the Upper School.

What We Do

Employing individualized and positive education, The Albany Academies provide students with the knowledge, skills, and character needed for leadership and success in the creative, entrepreneurial century that lies ahead.

Hockey At The Academy

Hockey has been a part of the Academies for over 100 years and has had a rich history in developing players for elite levels of competition. The hockey program consists of a varsity prep school team that competes in the New England Prep School Athletic Association and a varsity high school team that competes in the Capital District High School Hockey League. The prep team plays against older competition and is geared towards athletes who are looking to play hockey at the collegiate level. The high school team is for developing younger players for the prep program while also providing a competitive program for players who enjoy hockey, but may not want to commit to a prep school schedule. There is also a Middle School program for grades 7 and 8 that skates daily and focuses on skill development.
